Best AI Rewriter ToolsPin

Looking for the best AI rewriter tools on the market? You’re in the right place.

Artificial intelligence has come a long way over the last few years. And modern AI rewriters are nothing like the lousy article spinners of old.

These days, AI is capable of rewriting content just as well as a real human (if not better)—as long as you use the right tool for the job.

In this post, we’ll be reviewing and comparing our favorite AI rewriter tools that make paraphrasing easy.

The best AI rewriter tools compared

TL;DR:

  • Rytr – Best for most users.
  • Quillbot – Best for simplicity.
  • Frase – Best for content marketers.

#1 – Rytr

Rytr is a powerful AI writer that offers unparalleled value for money. It has the most generous free plan we’ve seen anywhere, and its paid plans are super affordable

Rytr HomepagePin

On Rytr’s free plan, you can generate up to 10,000 characters of AI-written text per month. If that’s not enough, the Saver plan costs less than ten bucks a month and lets you generate unlimited characters.

But don’t let the price tag fool you. Despite its low cost, you still get all the same features on Rytr that you get with other, more-expensive AI writing platforms, like AI writing templates, a built-in text editor, a plagiarism checker, custom tones and languages, image generation, and more.

There are 40+ templates to choose from, including email copy, ad copy, blog posts, article outlines, and lots of other options. So whatever you’re trying to write or rewrite, Rytr should be able to handle it.

If you just want to rewrite existing text, open it up inside Rytr’s editor, highlight it, and click Rephrase. You can change the tone and language of the output in the sidebar.

#2 – Quillbot

Quillbot is a simple but powerful online paraphraser app that couldn’t be easier to use. It’s the best choice if you want to keep things simple and don’t need all the bells and whistles you get with other platforms.

Quillbot HomepagePin

Quillbot doesn’t even make you sign up for an account to get started. All you need to do is open up the website, paste the text you want to rewrite into the text box, and hit Paraphrase.

Quillbot will then work its magic and paraphrase the content by changing up the vocabulary, sentence structure, etc. without losing its original meaning.

And what’s cool is you can click on words in the output box to quickly change them to synonyms and add your own touch.

You can also change the ‘Mode’ that Quillbot runs in, depending on what you’re looking for.

There are two free modes (Standard and Fluency) and five premium modes (Formal, Simple, Creative, Expand, and Shorten) to choose between.

Aside from the Paraphraser, Quillbot also offers a bunch of other useful writing tools, which you can access from the left-hand sidebar. These include a grammar checker, plagiarism checker, co-writer software, summarizer, citation generator, and translator.

And there are Quillbot plugins available for Chrome, Word, and MacOS.

Once you’ve got your content, you can edit it in Frase’s Content Editor. This is one of the best built-in text editors we’ve seen and it’s jam-packed with powerful features.

Content Scoring tells you how well-optimized your content is by scoring it out of 100, and these scores update in real time as you write. The way it calculates the score is by analyzing the SERPs for your target keyword and comparing your writing to other top-ranking articles.

To help guide you to a higher optimization score, Frase delivers SEO suggestions in the sidebar, such as related topics/keywords that you should include in your article.

Aside from that, Frase can also help you to discover and analyze keywords, conduct competitor analysis, discover new content opportunities and track performance via Google Search Console integration, generate detailed content briefs for your writers, and more.

#5 – Jasper

Jasper is another powerful AI writing assistant that you can use to rewrite content or generate original content from scratch.

Jasper HomepagePin

The best thing about Jasper is the quality of its output. And the reason it’s able to produce such good quality is probably because of the technology that it’s built on.

Unlike most other AI writers, it doesn’t rely solely on just one large language model like GPT-4. Instead, it incorporates all the best models, including OpenAI’s GPT-4, Anthropic, and Google’s language models to power its AI. And it augments those models with data from search and optimization tools for SEO and grammar, etc.

The way you’d typically use Jasper is to choose a template based on what you’re trying to write, and then add some initial instructions/prompts to guide the AI.

There are over 50+ templates to choose from, including all the usual content types like blog posts, product descriptions, outlines, ad copy, meta descriptions, etc.

The Content Improver template is great for rewriting. All you have to do is paste in the content you want to be rewritten, choose your preferred tone of voice (i.e. bold, cheeky, informative, etc.), language, and level of formality, and hit Generate.

Jasper will then do its thing and serve you multiple completely original, rewritten versions of the text. You can choose your favorite, then polish it up and optimize it in the editor to get it ready to publish.

Another neat thing about Jasper is that it can learn from your brand to write in your own tone of voice. You can train it on your own style guidelines, product catalogs, etc. to give it context to work from. Or alternatively, it can scan your website to learn about your brand directly.

Other cool features include Jasper’s built-in AI art generator, and the Jasper Everywhere extension, which lets you paraphrase content wherever you create online: in your email, on social media, etc.

Key features

  • AI generator
  • Content improver
  • Art generator
  • Templates
  • Brand Voice
  • Editor
  • Browser extension

  • Uses multiple language models
  • High-quality output

INK is another popular AI content writing platform worth checking out.

INK HomepagePin

It comes with all the same stuff as other AI writing assistants, including an intuitive AI generator, built-in content editor, SEO optimizer, etc.

But it also offers a few features that we haven’t seen elsewhere.

One of our favorites is the AI content shield, which helps to make sure none of your content flags up as AI-written or plagiarized.

This is important if you’re using AI to create web content/blog posts as it’ll help ensure you don’t land any Google penalties that hurt your rankings.

Aside from that, INK also comes with its own AI-powered keyword research and keyword clustering tools, which is pretty neat.

Key features

  • AI writer
  • AI content shield
  • AI assistant
  • AI images
  • SEO optimizer
  • Keyword research
  • Keyword clustering

#7 – WordAI

WordAI is an advanced but easy-to-use AI text rewriter with a fantastic user interface.

WordAI HomepagePin

We really like WordAi’s UI. It couldn’t be more fast or intuitive: Just enter your content, choose how many rewrites you want, and click Rewrite.

WordAi will then serve up the rewritten content side-by-side with your original content for you to compare. And it’ll even show you the ‘uniqueness score’ of the new version.

There’s never any duplicate content as WordAi is really creative in how it paraphrases your work. It comes up with different ways to express the same idea and completely restructures your sentences in a way that sounds natural and passes Copyscape.

Often, the content WordAi generates sounds better than the original as it improves quality and clarity, and fixes spelling and grammar mistakes as it goes.

  • Spelling and grammar tools

Writesonic HomepagePin

It’s built on OpenAI’s GPT-4, which is probably the most advanced LLM on the market right now.

And it works in pretty much the way you’d expect: You choose a template, enter some initial instructions, and generate text.

Then, you open up that text in Writersonic’s incredibly powerful Sonic Editor to tidy it up.

And what’s cool is the Sonic Editor has its own AI-powered paragraph rewriter built in. You can highlight text inside the editor and have Writesonic automatically paraphrase, shorten, or expand on it.

Plus, if you connect Writesonic to SurferSEO, you can also optimize it for search inside the Sonic Editor.

Writesonic’s template catalog gives you over 100 different templates to choose from, covering pretty much every type of content you could think of. And you also get access to Photosonic, Writesonic’s AI image generator.

Key features

  • GPT-4

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI rewriter tool?

An AI paragraph rewriter tool is a natural language processing tool powered by artificial intelligence that is capable of understanding the meaning behind content and rewriting it in order to paraphrase, expand on, or improve it.

AI rewriters typically work based on prompts. That is, you feed the tool content, and then enter a prompt (initial instruction) telling it what you want it to do to that content (e.g. fix the grammar, rewrite it in a sarcastic tone, add two more paragraphs, etc.).

It’ll then rewrite the content following your instructions and deliver a completely unique, original text output.

Related: The Latest AI Statistics You Need To Know.

Why use an AI rewriter?

There are lots of reasons you might want to use an AI rewriter, but here are some of the main ones:

  • It makes it easy to produce content at scale
  • It can help you to improve your existing content
  • It’s a great way to quickly update old articles for an easy SEO boost
  • You can feed original AI-written content through an AI rewriter to help it pass AI detectors

How do I get the most out of my AI rewriter?

AI rewriters are typically more effective when you feed them content in chunks. So rather than inputting a huge 4,000-word blog post in one go and asking it to rewrite it, have it rewrite a couple of paragraphs at a time and then put it all together yourself at the end.

It’s also a good idea to ‘babysit’ your AI rewriter to get the most out of it. Look over the output to make sure it hasn’t missed the mark anywhere, and if it has, enter a prompt to have it change that section, or change it yourself manually.

Don’t be afraid to add a few of your own insights to the articles you’re rewriting here and there too to give the AI more to work with.

Can rewritten AI content be detected?

There are lots of AI detectors out there that claim to be able to determine whether or not a text has been written by AI, but they’re not very reliable for the most part. They often give false positives or fail to spot content that’s been written by AI.

So yes, content that you have rewritten by AI can sometimes be detected, but not with any great degree of accuracy. And it’s possible to bypass AI detectors if you tweak the AI-produced content a little bit yourself, or use more creative and specific prompts.

For example, depending on which software you use, you might be able to ask the AI to ‘rewrite this in order to pass AI detectors’, which usually does a pretty good job of making the content undetectable.

Is AI rewriting plagiarism?

That’s a tricky question to answer, from both an ethical and a legal standpoint. There’s a lot of debate around this very topic right now, and we’re not experts, so take our advice with a pinch of salt.

That said, if you’re using AI as a tool to help you to produce original content (for example, by feeding it your own work and having it rewrite it to fit a certain tone or improve the grammar), I can’t see that being considered plagiarism.

However, I’d be more cautious about using AI rewriters to rewrite someone else’s content and pass it off as your own as that seems like something that may be considered plagiarism. But again, I’m not a lawyer, so don’t consider this legal advice.

Does Google penalize AI paraphrasing?

Google has made it clear that AI content doesn’t go against their search guidelines, so it shouldn’t be penalized as long as you use your AI paraphraser appropriately and you’re not just using it to manipulate search rankings or plagiarize other people’s work.
