Morningscore is an all-in-one SEO tool that helps businesses improve their website’s search engine ranking and visibility.

The platform offers keyword research, competitor analysis, and on-page optimization.

But is it any good?

By the end of this review, you’ll know the answer, including whether it suits your specific needs.

We’ll dive into Morningscore’s capabilities, explore the plans available, and detail what we think are the software’s main pros and cons.

What is Morningscore?

Morningscore Homepage

Morningscore is a tool for businesses and website owners who want to improve their online presence. The platform was founded in 2019 by a team of experienced digital marketers and software developers based in Denmark.

The team’s goal was to create a user-friendly SEO tool that was simple yet powerful. Since its launch, the tool has become known for its highly intuitive interface and comprehensive features.

Morningscore is primarily targeted at small and medium-sized businesses, startups, and freelancers and is used by over 10,000 of them.

That said, with so many other platforms out there, is it enough to become your SEO tool of choice?

Continue reading for our full review of Morningscore. I’ll discuss the pros and cons and a few alternatives, too.

What features does Morningscore offer?

Morningscore is a popular gamified SEO tool. The key features worth knowing about include:

  • Keywords
  • Missions
  • Links
  • Reports
  • Customer support
  • Integrations

We’ll explore these features and give you a first-hand look at the tool.

Please note: Some of Morningscore’s features are only available in specific pricing plans.

Getting started

When you first log into Morningscore, you’ll be taken to a screen that looks like this:

Getting Started

Here, you’re given a quick tour of what the tool can do and a rundown of its main features. You’ll also be asked to input the name of your website before you can go any further.

Once you’re done filling in those necessary details, Morningscore is ready to use.

Keywords

The keyword functionality of Morningscore includes features such as handy keyword suggestions, search volume data, keyword difficulty analysis, and even competitor analysis.

You’ll be able to identify the most relevant and valuable keywords for your site, analyze the competition, and optimize your content accordingly. The platform also provides insights into the performance of keywords over time, helping you track the success of your efforts as you go.

Let’s break the keyword functionality down into its core offerings.

The keyword suggestions feature helps you identify new and relevant keywords that may have otherwise been overlooked.

The search volume data feature provides insights into the popularity of certain keywords and helps you prioritize which keywords to target. This can help you to focus your efforts on high-impact keywords that are likely to drive more traffic to your site.

The keyword difficulty analysis feature helps you evaluate the competition for specific keywords and identify which keywords are more or less difficult to rank for overall. In other words, you’ll be able to focus your efforts on more attainable keywords and avoid wasting time (and resources) on highly competitive ones.

I particularly like the competitor analysis feature, which can help you understand your competitors’ SEO strategies and identify areas where you can improve your efforts. After all, today, staying ahead of the competition and improving your site’s overall search engine rankings is critical to success.

To get started with these useful features, load up the central dashboard and click where it says Keywords like so:

Getting Started - Keywords

You’ll be taken to a new screen that looks like this:

Getting Started - Rank tracker

Here you’ll find the key functionalities of the tool broken down into easily navigable sections, including the rank tracker, keyword research, and competitor analysis.

For example, if we want to use the competitor analysis functionality, we simply click the section, add the competitors we want and the platform will do the rest, providing you with key insights to take things to the next level.

The keyword research section asks you to input your chosen keyword and target country like so:

Getting Started - Keyword research

Upon clicking Search, you’ll be provided with a series of results that include everything from the number of searches on Google per month to the keyword difficulty and CPC (Cost Per Click):

Getting Started - Search

While navigating the dashboard and performing tasks, Morningscore also sets you game-like missions that reward you with “experience points” upon completion. Experience points allow you to level up and unlock new missions, pushing you to continually improve your SEO efforts. It’s a fun extra, one which we’ll look at in the next section of the review.

Overall, there’s a lot of impressive keyword functionality here, all of which remains easy to use and understand.

Missions

Morningscore’s Missions feature is a powerful tool that helps you improve your SEO efforts. It allows you to set specific goals and track your progress towards achieving them.

Essentially, the feature provides gamified-style insights and recommendations to improve your rankings, increase your traffic, and drive conversions. Breaking down your SEO optimization into tasks and ticking them off is a great way to stay motivated, rewarding each stage and keeping you on track.

In other words, as you level up on the platform, so does the strength of your site, with new missions added as you go. Every time you complete a task, you earn XP. These points accumulate over time and unlock new levels, which indicates your level of expertise. I was more than impressed with the forward-thinking approach here.

To see your current missions on the dashboard, click where it says Missions like so:

Missions - Dashboard

You’ll be taken to a new screen that looks like this:

Missions - Current

Displayed are your current missions, suggested missions, and those that you’ve completed. Under that, each task is listed, along with the progress, difficulty, amount of mission XP, and clickable buttons that activate that particular mission. It’s simple, but remained rewarding and easy to follow during my time using it.

The missions make it easy to optimize your site for search engines and stay ahead of the competition. They’re a smart part of the package.

Links

Morningscore’s Links feature allows you to analyze the backlinks of any site, including your own, and provides a detailed report on the quality (and quantity) of backlinks, as well as the anchor texts used.

You’ll quickly be able to identify areas where you can build more high-quality backlinks and can compare your backlink profile with that of competitors to gain new insights and stay ahead. Doing that well will ultimately lead to better online visibility and more organic traffic.

To get started, click where it says Links on the dashboard like so:

Links - Dashboard

You’ll be taken to a new screen that looks like this:

Missions - Linkscore

The screen displays your overall “Linkscore,” any new or lost links, and is able to list all of your current links. Under that, you’re able to see a link score comparison with your competitors, the number of links they possess, and their value. You can add new competitors in a few clicks.

There’s a dedicated section available for your Linkscore missions too, which, again, is an excellent way to stay on top of things and keep you pushing towards your SEO goals.

Backlinks are a crucial factor in ongoing search engine optimization and can significantly impact your site’s ranking and, thereby, your ultimate success. This is an essential feature, and Morningscore doesn’t disappoint.

Reports

Morningscore offers a decent reporting feature that allows you to track and measure your site’s performance.

The reports provide various metrics, such as keyword rankings, organic traffic, and the status of your backlinks.

You can customize your reports by selecting the metrics you want to track and the time period you want to analyze. The reports are easy to understand and provide recommendations to improve your overall site performance.

I particularly liked the ability to see your website’s health, which refers to its total performance and quality. For instance, a website that has “good health” performs well in search engines, attracts more visitors, and provides a positive user experience, so understanding it is critical.

To get started with the reporting functionality of Morningscore, simply click where it says Reports at the end of the row:

Reports - Dashboard

You’ll be taken to a new screen that looks like this:

Report - New

Here, you can view reports for a specific time frame, create new ones from scratch, and search for older ones if needed. You’re also able to pick the focus of the report like so:

Report - Pick the focus

The only drawback here is that you can’t view your reports across mobile devices because there isn’t an app for the platform (at the time of writing). Although we expect that to change down the line.

All in all, it’s a solid offering and stands tall compared to many other SEO tools.

Customer support

Morningscore offers a great level of customer support. They have a dedicated support team that can be reached through both email and live chat. The support team is known to be knowledgeable, responsive, and ready to help users with any questions or issues they might have.

On top of that, the platform provides a knowledge base and FAQ section on its site, which you can quickly access to find answers to the most commonly asked questions. I found the knowledge base and FAQ section on the website to be informative and easy to navigate.

If you want to contact the team, you can do so wherever you are in the dashboard. Simply click the purple icon in the bottom right like so:

Customer support - Ask questions

From there, you’ll be able to ask a question to the team directly or perform an instant search of the helpdesk. I did find doing the latter took more time than I would have expected, although I assume this is because the database has to load into the window. It’s convenience at a slight cost, in other words. There’s sure to be an update to get this part of the customer service fixed.

That said, the entire presentation of the support is designed to be easy to understand and navigate, and it shows. I also appreciated the speed at which I could reach someone too; this isn’t a team that’s afraid to talk to its customers, as can sometimes be the case elsewhere.

Overall, it’s a great showing.

Integrations

Morningscore integrates with a variety of popular SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and Moz, as well as Majestic, Semrush, Keywordtool.io, Serpstat, Alexa, and Google Business Profile.

It’s worth noting that some of these integrations enable you to automate specific tasks and save time, too, such as generating reports and monitoring keyword rankings. You can set these up in a few steps.

How much does it cost?

Morningscore has four main tiers: Lite, Business, Pro, and Premium. Each plan includes differing features, benefits, and usage limits, with the key limits being the number of keywords you can track and the number of websites you can add.

Here’s an overview of Morningscore’s plans and prices:

Lite: This plan allows you to track up to 100 keywords per month across three websites with five full-page scans and basic competitor comparisons. It’s a decent starting package at $49 per month if somewhat lacking in features for the price.

Business: Business allows you to track up to 500 keywords per month across 10 websites with full reporting features. It costs $69 per month, which is relatively expensive compared to some tools on the market.

Pro: This plan allows you to track up to 2000 keywords per month across 30 websites with 100 active missions, ongoing reports, and CSV export functionality. It’s a comprehensive package and comes in at $129 per month.

Premium: This plan allows you to track up to 5000 keywords per month across 100 websites with up to 2000 site scans and over 100 reports. It’s a top-tier package, but it costs $259 per month.

Morningscore’s pricing is somewhat lower for its advanced features, although the initial starting packages aren’t quite as competitive for businesses just starting out. That said, most long-time users believe the higher price is worth it (and are happy to stick with the tool).

Morningscore also offers a generous 14-day free trial so you can test its platform before committing to any of the paid plans. No credit card is needed, and there are no hidden charges.

Ultimately, it depends on the specific needs of your business and the features you require.

Pros and cons

Morningscore is an excellent and effective SEO tool, but it also has weaknesses. Here’s a brief round-up of what we thought were the biggest pros and cons.
