Key takeaways

The majority of this infographic is based on one of the most popular posts I’ve published here on Blogging Wizard, so if you want to learn more about how to implement these tips and find some helpful examples, check out this post.

There are plenty of tips which I’ve included in this infographic, but there are several which can have a bigger impact than others:

  • Customize your profile – Creating a profile that conveys your brand image is key. This requires a unique profile image, unique header, engaging bio and a color scheme which vibes with your brand.
  • As Captain Pickard says, “Engage!” – Engaging with other users is the best thing you can do, although the busier you are, the more challenging it will be.
  • Make it easy for your blog’s readers to find your profile – I’m not saying that a link to your Twitter profile has to be the most prominent thing on your blog; after all, you’ll have other goals or actions you want your readers to take. Just make sure your readers can find it.
  • Make it easy for your readers to tweet your content – This one is easy to do, there are plenty of tools out there, and even more for WordPress users. Make sure that any tool you use to add social sharing buttons includes “Via @Yourusername” at the end. I use a WordPress plugin called Social Warfare* for this.
  • Stop sending automated DM’s – A little bit of automation can work, but automated DM’s give the wrong impression. And it makes it worse if your DM ends with “via [insert Twitter tool name]”.
  • Take part in Twitter chats – I’ve only taken part in one of these so far which was as a special guest for #SEMrushchat. As well as a great opportunity to network with other great people, this was the most fun I’ve ever had on Twitter.
  • Leverage Triberr – I’m a huge advocate of Triberr. It’s a great social platform for bloggers and it’s a great place to find new content as well as networking with other bloggers.
